Here’s what’s happening this week at Map It Forward!

The Market

As the C-market climbs above 400 again, we're entering a critical phase of this global coffee crisis. Many small- and medium-sized roasters are running low on inventory. Some are still holding out, hoping prices will drop. But from what we’re hearing on the ground, the reasons behind these high prices—climate impacts, low production, theft, and systemic instability are only getting worse.

Across the supply chain, pressure is mounting:

  • Producers face weather disruptions, crop theft, and pressure to sell below C-market prices.

  • Exporters and traders are battling price volatility and shipping delays.

  • Roasters must decide whether to secure coffee now or wait and risk supply gaps.

  • Cafes and retailers that didn’t raise prices gradually are now struggling with cost increases that hit margins hard.

  • Consumers are adapting by shifting to at-home brewing and reducing spending.

We believe the next few months will reveal which businesses built for resilience—and which didn’t.
